Tests on Friday Dec 2 for grade 10 and 11

the grade 10 test Friday is about vehicle maintenance. The grade 11 test is on engine service, repair and maintenance. We will review on Thursday to make sure everyone has all the material needed for the test but students should be reviewing their notes in the meantime to prepare for the test.

tool and measurement test on Thursday Sept 28

This Thursday - Sep 28 - there is a tool and measurement test for grade 10 and 11 classes. I am available before school, at lunch and after school to help anyone who requires it in preparation for the test. I do not want to see blank spaces for the measurement questions and here someone tell me after the fact that they left it blank because they did not understand it. I am willing to make the time for you to help you NOW. The test will also include tool pictures and you will have to tell me the name. The test will have multiple choice, fill in the blank, True and False and match the tool to the description. It will also involve fastener info and general work practices (ex - start fasteners by hand to avoid crossthreading). It will involve questions on hand tools and power tools and equipment. If you have any questions DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OF THE TEST!!!

Because of the cancellation of busses today, the gd 11 engine test will be Friday rather than Thursday so we have an opportunity to review for the test on Thursday.

 

The gd 10 test is still taking place on Friday as planned.

Day 17 - Mon Feb 28 - Trans Tech - Gd 10 and Gd 11 A,B

Buses were cancelled today due to ice which meant no test today.  The test for both Gd 10 and 11 on tools and measurement will be tomorrow (Tues.)

Our next unit for gd 10's will be engine basics in prep. for tearing apart out briggs & stratton small engines.  The gd 11 unit will be on engine design and then diagnosis.  We will review engine fundamentals as it relates to engine design.

Day 7 - Friday Feb 11 - Trans Tech - Gd 10 and Gd 11 A,B

for both classess - We took up all remaining hand tool sheets and then I did a a lesson on imperial measurement (review for gd 11 hopefully) and gave them a worksheet to practice.  I also gave the gd 11's  an engine service tools worksheet that is due MONDAY

The grade 10's continued working on practical activities

The grade 11 A class worked on the chev van and we activated an air bag from the van (great learning opportunity and entertainment value) 

The grade 11B class were the lucky ones to be able to lower out of the vehicle the engine/transaxle asembly.  In four days the 2 gd 11 classes completely dismantled the van.  Good Job.  Good Effort.

Day 6 - Thursday Feb 10 - Trans Tech - Gd 10 and Gd 11 A,B

We took up hand tool sheets with both classes that were due today and tomorrow will be a homework check for the remaining hand tool sheet
