ENG 1D - Wednesday September 7

Your computer tasks for today:

1) Set up an Edmodo account and join the ENG 1D group.

2) Type your paragraph into Wordle.  Try a few layouts, then print out one you are happy with.

3) Use a marker to highlight the 5 words that you think are most important.

4)  On the back of your Wordle, explain why you think each of those words are important.

5) Hand it in.

6) If someone else needs a computer, let them have it and go read silently.

7) If no one needs the computer, go to www.freerice.com/ and work on vocabulary or grammar OR look up similes, metaphors, and personification to review for tomorrow's class.

ENG 1D Parent Homework

Yes, it is true.  Parents of my ENG 1D class have homework.  Please write me a bit about your son/daughter since you know them best. If you can send it by Friday, that would be great.

Thanks!

Welcome Semester 1 classes!

Welcome back.

This year. instead of the blog, I will be trying to use Edmodo.  I liked the blog, and will be sad to leave it; but on the other hand, it's good to try new things and Edmodo seems to have a few more features. I imagine you'll have other teachers also working their way through it.  In the next few days, I'll be giving out a group registration code for each English class I have.

Stay tuned for more details!

ENG 2D - TED Talk Essay Handout

Didn't get a chance to make more photocopies, so here it is. (Ignore the mention of handing them in on Mondays, the wiki etc. - but the structure explanation and rubric are there for you to use)

If you are done the work in class, take a look at the link to 40 "infographics".

- Choose the 2 that you find the most interesting.

- Choose 2 that you think are easiest to understand (even if not interesting), and be able to tell why they were easier to understand.

- CHoose 2 that you think are hardest to understand. Be prepared to tell me what you think made them harder.

FSF 1D - Tuesday, April 19

One third of the class away today ... so we were low-key.

Practised the passe compose with irregular verbs for most of the class.  Get the handout on Wednesday if you were away.

OCA is NOT tomorrow - that would be next week instead.

Pas de devoirs (no homework!)
