Culinary Club

Tuesday, February 23rd - Take-Home Casserole #2

We will be making a take-home casserole this week.  On the menu is Meatball and Vegetable Cobbler (beef meatballs, carrots, onions, celery with cheese and biscuit topping). A vegetarian option that replaces the meatballs with tofu is also available. If you are interested in buying a casserole to share with your family please let Mrs. Bettger know by Friday.  Costs are as follows:

Small (8 X 8) Casserole: $12

Regular (9 X 13) Casserole: $15

Vegetarian option is priced the same as meat version.

 

 

Culinary Club Feb 9th, 2010

  Our first meeting of 2010 is scheduled for this Tuesday at 3:00pm in Room 239.  Bring your sweet tooth and your creative energy...we will be creating some yummy Valentine's Treats!  See you then!

Culinary Club in the New Year

Thanks to all Culinary Club members for their contributions to school and club activities during Semester One!!

Just a quick post to review what we discussed at today's lunch meeting:

Next Week : Tuesday, January 12th, 2010 - Staff Casserole preparation 3:00 in Room 239

We will then take a break over exams and Tuesday Culinary Group will resume on Feb. 9th, 2010 at 3:00 in Room 239.

Semester Two culinary adventures will include dessert preparation, cake decorating workshop, and perhaps a visit to a local chocolatier's kitchen...Stay tuned for more information!

December 15th and 16th

Culinary Club members are reminded that we will be meeting Tuesday and Wednesday this week so that we can complete our Appetizer Orders for delivery by Friday of this week.  3:00 in Room 239...See you there!

Culinary Club Back in Action!

DCVI's Culinary Club will resume meetings following a much deserved week off afterthe Challenge Day Volunteer Dinner and Academic Banquet.

This week, we will begin preparation of assorted holiday appetizers.  See you Tuesday at 3:00 in Room 239!

Wednesday, October 28th - Junior Kitchens

Junior Kitchen group will meet this week on Wednesday at 3pm ONLY if students have returned permission forms and 10$ Club Fee.  See Mrs. Bettger with forms, money and/or questions.

Tuesday Core Culinary Group

Core Culinary Club members should plan to meet Tuesday at 3pm in Room 239.  We will be discussing plans for our upcoming catering events - Challenge Day Volunteer Appreciation on Thursday, Nov. 5th and the DCVI Academic Awards Banquet on Thursdady, Nov. 12th.

In addition, we will begin preparing desserts for these two events.  See you there!

October 14th - Perfecting Pizza

This week we will be making pizza dough from scratch and experimenting with topping combinations.  Bring a clean container or ziploc bag (larger size, but not huge) to take home some dough.   

(Ours won't be quite this big...)

Culinary Club Wednesday October 7th

Attention all Culinary Club Members: Plan to stay after school on Wednesday. Miss Jewson will lead us in the preparation of three flavours of biscuits.  Please bring a container to take home some samples!

Culinary Club Cancelled Sept. 30

Unfortunately, we are going to have to cancel Culinary this week due to illness (remember last week's discussion about safe food preparation and handling).  Stay tuned for next week's plans!
