New School for St. Marys
The Ministry of Education has determined that St. Marys Central and Arthur Meighen Public School are too expensive to repair and therefore a new school will be built in St. Marys. There are a number of possible alternatives.
Modify DCVI to create a school for all students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Build a new school for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. This new school could be located on DCVI property or another location in town. DCVI would be for students from Grades 7 to 12.
Build a new school for students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. This new school could be located on DCVI property or another location in town.
Which do you think would be best? Go to Saluki Nation to vote in our latest poll.

if they are goning to build a new school here at dcvi are the students going to get somthing such as a new shop for a course such a agricultural tech? because if they were gonna do somthing now would be the time to do it

if you are going to build a new school and not change dcvi it could be more costly in the future to change the school then now would be the time to do it

I do not think it is wise to put all students from kindergarten to grade 12 together. First of all the poor little kindergarteners would be trampled, plus imagine their horror at even larger people around. (I remember being afraid of grade 8's because they were so large at the time). The time tables will also be in conflict because K-8 have more courses on a regular basis and are not semestered. The high school ciriculum to me seems much better semestered so it is not the best idea to change that to meet the K-8 scedule. I also do not think the exposure to the language, drugs and other offending manner experienced at high school rather than public school would be good to subject those younger students to. I think it is best to leave the high school as is with just the four grades and then have another school for the K-8 but if I had to choose one of the other two options I believe that having 7-12 would be better than K-12. Also I do not think putting the other school on the DCVI lot would be wise. This is still so close to the drugs, smoking pit and other bad influences the smaller children should especially be seperated from. Plus this takes away from the outdoor area at the school such as the soccer fields which are not only used by the gym classes, sports teams but also st marys soccer teams. It would be better to keep this new school at another location than the current DCVI location.
