Senior Girls Soccer
The DCVI Senior Girls Soccer team kicked off the Huron-Perth regular season with a pair of wins in Clinton on Tuesday. The team opened with a strong 1-0 victory over the host Central Huron team. Jane Hendriksen scored the winning goal for the Salukis. In the second game, the team came out strong against Northwestern, and again fought to a 1-0 victory. Richelle Forrester notched the winner for the Lukes. Both games saw many offensive chances for DCVI, hitting the post on numerous occassions. Great crosses by Lauren Stacey and Brittany Sterkenburg helped keep the opposing teams defense on alert. Nicole Meta helped control the middle of the field, and the defensive unit of Steph Hairsine, Lauren Thomson, Kierstin Myers and Lisa Nethercott limited the chances of the opposition. Goalie Sarah Kennedy played aggressively, earning both shutouts. Great play girls!
