Senior Girls Soccer
The Salukis Senior Girls Soccer team continued their winning ways Tuesday with a pair of victories in Mitchell. The team opened with a 2-0 win over Mitchell. The girls controlled the field and created many scoring opportunities. Goal scorers were Candra Staffen and Lauren Stacey. In the second game against South Huron, the Salukis came out strong and dominated the play for the entire game. Strong passes and great communication resulted in a balanced attack. Lauren Stacey netted two goals, with Jane Hendriksen and Candra Staffen adding singles. Assisted by a strong defensive unit, goalie Sarah Kennedy notched her fourth straight shut out in Huron Perth league play. Brittany Sterkenburg and Claire Jackson were strong on the outside, making some brilliant crosses. The team plays again on Tuesday May 6 in Listowel against LDSS and St. Annes.
