Attention Grade 12 Students

As we plan for the 2012-2013 school year, we need to know your plans!

If you have not already submitted your online course selection, and feel that there is any chance you will be returning, you must complete the process ASAP. (They were due on Monday night)

If you are sure you are not returning to DCVI, please come and get your pink sheet from Student Services, and take it home to be signed.

Naval Interactive Bus

The Canadian Navy Interactive Bus will be making a stop at DCVI on Monday March 5 in the afternoon.

The Navy Bus is a rolling billboard with the interior housing a series of interactive, technologically advanced computer systems designed to demonstrate the Navy and its employment opportunities to Canadians across the country. (source)

Students wishing to tour the bus and attend an information session should sign up in Student Services.

Podio sponsors Grade 12 Yearbook Students

 

Podio is project managment software that easily manages teams, projects, and much more in one central place.  It also has the ability to create project-specific apps.  Podio has accepted DCVI’s application to sponsor the students in IDC4O/4U to use Podio to manage the creation of the DCVI yearbook.  Thank you Podio for your support of education.

Course Selection - Get it done!

A reminder to complete your course selection on myBlueprint.  Submissions are due by midnight on Monday February 27 and signed sheets are due to your English/Math teacher by Tuesday.

There will be one final lunch help session in Room 240 on Friday if you are needing any assistance.

OFSAA Nordic

The Senior Girls team finished 5th in the Nordic Team Event on Thursday.  The Junior Girls were 12th and Jr Boys tied for 9th.  Friday sees the teams in action again in the Sprint Relays.  They will be held on the STREETS in Downtown Huntsville and they are releasing all of the schools.  They expect 5000 people to attend!

Europe Trip Parents Meeting

A parents meeting for any students planning on traveling to Europe on March Break in 2013 will be held in the cafeteria on February 28th.  The meeting will begin at 7pm and we will be handing out copies of the itinerary, travel contract, and payment schedule.  If you plan to travel with us, plan to attend!

First Place Finish at WOSSA

The Saluki Swim team had a great day at WOSSA Tuesday. The swimmers posted many personal best times and competed for strong placing in many events.

 Connor Shaw earned DCVI a first place medal in the 50m Para-Freestyle. Congratulations to Connor for his First Place efforts and for his wonderful sportsmanship.

 

The Senior Girls Medley Relay team, including Jen Spence, Lauren Aarts , Marnie Snoek and junior swimmer Sarah Turner, placed 6^th overall and improved their time significantly.

 Jen Spence improved her times and posted personal best times in the 100m freestyle. This has been a strong season for Jen!

 Lauren Aarts contributed to the team as our only representative in the breaststroke. Thanks Lauren.

 Marnie Snoek placed in the top ten in each of her events and just missed an OFSSA qualifying time by 2 tenths of a second! Way to go Marnie!

 

All swimmers showed a great deal of dedication and hard work throughout the season. Thanks also goes to Sarah Tuer-Sipos and Carolin Welp for their additional support.

Digital Media - Family Night - Waterloo Stratford Campus

Digital media is changing the world around us. Learn how the Waterloo Stratford Campus is preparing the next generation of leaders who can leverage digital media in order to enhance business practices.

During this information session high school students and their families have the opportunity to hear from, and pose questions to professors, staff, and a panel of working professionals who will explain how digital media is changing the business world, and how our Global Business and Digital Arts program can help you turn your passion for creative design, technology and business into a successful career.
