Pancakes and Performances

Building on the success of a first year event can be a tremendous challenge, especially when the inaugural showcase raises awareness, funds and spirits within a community, all to help local youth. Yet that is the order of the day for Saturday, March 1st, when St. Marys District Collegiate and Vocational Institute presents its second annual ‘Pancakes and Performances’, a feast, not just for the ears, but one for the palate, too.

The doors open at 9:00am, with serving to take place in the school cafeteria until 12:00 noon. Members of the audience can enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning repast of pancakes, eggs and sausage, then stroll over to the small gymnasium, and be soothed and serenaded by the D.C.V.I. Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Ensemble and other groups. Tickets are $5.00 per serving, with plenty of food for everyone.

As we approach the end of the first month of the school year the action is heating up:  fall sports have started; the band(s) are rehearsing;  drama is starting to act up; genie day is just around the corner; the first school dance is next week.  How can you know what's happening?  Everything is posted in the DCVI Calendar - click on the link at the top of the left column.
