This is a reminder to all of Mr. Chateauvert's Grade 10 phys-ed students. Our skating unit is approaching fast. You need to have a pair of skates, and a helmet with a full face mask.
We will be at the arena on the following dates:

This is a reminder that the grade 12 P.E. classes are going skating on Tuesday December 18 for class. Students will need a helmet, gloves and stick.

Attention Hockey Fans!!!!!
The annual student - teacher hockey game is fast approaching and we need YOU to make it happen on the last day of school before Christmas holidays. This year, there will be four student teams competing for hockey supremacy at St. Marys DCVI. There will be a team for junior town players, a team for junior country players, a team for senior town players, and a team for senior country players. The juniors will play the juniors, the seniors will play the seniors, and each team will get the opportunity to try and beat the always impressive teacher team! You must sign up by the end of the week if you want to play. Sign-up sheets are located on the window outside of the office.
New this year, there will be a free skate before the games begin, so dust off the old skates and get the blades sharpened to enjoy a few laps around the ice at the brand new Pyramid Centre. There will also be draws during the game for fans to shoot and win great prizes.
The teacher team has already started practicing, and Mr. Brunton has already sharpened his skates in anticipation of the games this year. Ms. Lawrence is ready to play and has challenged all the DCVI female hockey players to sign up and try to match her skills on the ice.
The teacher team is probably going to be unbeatable this year.
The Grade 12 P.E. classes and PSE 4U classes learned about ankle taping today from guest speaker Dan McIntosh. Dan is currently working with the Blue Jays organization as an Athletic Therapist.

Mrs. Wrigley's grade 9 class took to the badminton court this week, finishing the unit with the semi-annual "Doubles Badminton Tournament". The girls dressed up for the occasion.

The grade 11 phys-ed classes were at Spike's Beach Volleyball in London on Thursday, November 8th for a beach volleyball tournament. The day got off to a great start and continued for the duration of the event. All of the matches were close, but Team 1 finished first after round robin play.
In the play-off round, Team 7 emerged as champions. Congratulations to Mike Rutherford, Danny Hemstock, Shauna Scheuerman, Joe Smith, and Cody Boyd, as well as the rest of the grade 11 classes for their hard play throughout the day.

Grade 9 Class
The Phys. Ed class had 6 teams compete for the honours of top team. Team 1 won the tournament with a total of 7 points. The team consisted Justin Marriot, Russell McIntosh, Jessy Baker, Eric and Taylor Davis.
Grade 12 - Period 2
The class had two teams of 5 players. The two teams ended with a tie. Extra credit goes to Jase Doucette who won the three point competition making 6 of 10.
Grade 12 - Period 4
The tournament consisted of 6 teams. After regular pool play the teams were divided into the A and B sides.
Winner of the B side was the yellow team consisting of Glover, Josh, Renkz, Cheryl.
The A side ended with a three way tie.
Winner of the three point competition was Mooredawg making 4 of 10, with Jamie Anderson coming in second, making 3 of 10.
