Hey Shaddick. Can you do a quick review tomorrow on the first stuff we learned, which is limits. I'm having troubles remembering it well. Also, will we need to know the equation for finding derivatives that uses limits? [f(x)=lim f(x+h)-f(x) / h]

Mr. Shaddick: A review of this is on tap for Tuesday. You do need to know the limit form of the derivative.

Hey again Shaddick. Will you be around in the afternoon tomorrow for help? I am REALLY struggling with the curve sketching unit and can't seem to get anywhere with the review questions.

Mr. Shaddick: I plan on being around tomorrow afternoon. The only wildcard in the situation is that my daughter has had a high fever for the past day or so. If it continues, I may have to take care of her tomorrow. At the very least, I can help by answering questions online. If I'm not going to be at school, I'll be sure to post a message on the blog.

What I'm having problems with is remembering what order I need to do things in order to figure out what the graph looks like. Is it:
1. Find 1st and 2nd derivatives
2. Solve for critical #'s using f'(x)
3. Use crit #'s to find maximums and mins, and point of inflection using f''(x)
4. Using the chart of intervals find where the graph incs/decs, and concavity.
I'm also having a bit of trouble with derivatives of trig functions.
I've finished all of the questions on the hand out you gave us, but I can't find the textbook questions. Can you post those for me again?
