Planning to study agriculture? Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship

A reminder to students from  family farming operations with plans to enter college/university in an agriculture program are encouraged to apply for the Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship.  Applicants must have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership capabilities and active involvement in their local community.

Once you have decided on a school for September 2012, be sure to check out Entrance Scholarhips/Bursaries.  Some schools will automatically consider you, while other require an application.

Walmart Canada Community Schoalrship Program

Walmart Canada offers awards valued at $4000 over four years.  It is based on grades, financial needs, school/community involvement and an essay question.

Stacey Levitt Women and Sport Memorial Scholarship

The Stacey Levitt Women and Sport Memorial Scholarship, is awarded annually to a young woman, a girls’ team, or a sport organization that exemplify Stacey’s ideals and qualities (love of sport, teamplay, comraderie & competition). The scholarship, which honours the memory of Stacey, is distributed among five recipients; each recipient will receive $500.

Gallery Stratford offers a scholarship for students going on to study in a post secondary program that requires a fine arts component such as visual arts, architecture, interior design, photography or animation.

May 1 = College Acceptance Deadline

A reminder that the deadline for accepting offers to College is MAY 1.  Don't forget this important step!  Login to your OCAS account and go through the steps to confirm.  If you have any questions/concerns, come to Student Services.

Full Disclosure

Attention senior students:

If you are considering dropping a senior course this semester, please be advised that full disclosure will take effect 5 days after midterm report cards are distributed. 

This means that if you drop a course anytime after the April 27, 2012 cutoff, the course and your current mark will appear on your official transcript.

Weigh your options carefully and don't delay in making the decision.

The 2012 Scholarship information newsletter was sent with midterms report cards today.  Please read the information carefully as there is a lot of important things included.

The RED Awards Application Form is included in the middle.  This form is necessary if you wish to be considered for any in-school awards and scholarships at commencement.  It is due on June 21, 2012.

Scholarship Binders

The two scholarship binders have been updated.  Visit Student Services soon to check to see if there are scholarships that you qualify for. 

The BLACK binder contains provincial/national awards while the RED binder contains local St. Marys Community awards.
